Nadgie Ortiz Diaz, DMD FAAPD FADSA

Dr. Nadgie’s commitment to excellence in dentistry is apparent when looking at her extensive education. Very few doctors in Virginia and the U.S. have the medical training and expertise that Dr. Nadgie possesses. After earning her dental medicine doctorate degree in Puerto Rico and attending the advanced education in dentistry program at Harvard, she completed a 2-year pediatric dentistry residency in Puerto Rico and another 2-year residency in anesthesiology in New York City. This enabled her to obtain Board certification in both specialties. ‍

In addition to her medical training, Dr. Nadgie also served as an associate professor and sedation course director at the University of Puerto Rico School of Dental Medicine from 2004 to 2012. Dr. Nadgie opened her own pediatric dentistry practice in Puerto Rico in 2008 that she continues to manage. During this time she has also worked as an associate dentist at the Virginia Center for Dental Anesthesiology with Dr. Snyder in Arlington, VA. In all, she has been practicing dentistry for over 15 years. ‍‍

She also expanded her knowledge in orthodontics, taking continuing educational programs in Atlanta, GA for the last 8 years. Due to her extensive knowledge in pediatric dentistry and dental anesthesiology and sedation, Dr. Ortiz has been invited to participate as Board Examiner for the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry for several years. Dual-trained, board-certified pediatric dentists are not commonly found in the area, but with her unique combination of experience in private practice, hospital, academia, and overall medical training, Dr. Nadgie is truly unique. Dr. Nadgie is bilingual in both English and Spanish and also understands basic Portuguese. ‍ When she is not practicing dentistry or continuing her education, Dr. Nadgie is an avid traveler and foodie. She loves going to the movies, spending time with her family and friends, and supporting her own child in all his activities, which include karate and golf.

Our office is designed with your children’s comfort in mind. We have TVs with Netflix and Disney+ in every operatory and the waiting room, so you and your kids can catch up on your favorite shows or classic movies. There is a play area for little ones, and a video game station for teens, and the entire office is equipped with high-speed WiFi and device charging stations, so your visit will fly by.
